Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment where probably all the cinema lovers wait for every year. Filmmakers and the whole cast and crew work hard to get recognised on this red carpet as the most presitigous award show of the year.
95th Academy Awards took place on 12th March ( GMT). The Highest honor of a filmaker and a wait for the audience was finally over. The fans always wait for it and get excited when the times come around. Oscars were pretty good and had some incredible moments to cherish for. Unlikely the previous year, no one was harmed in the 95th Academy Awards. Here is a brief about some of the brightest moments that took place.
DOMINANCE OF EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE
We have rarely seen such dominance at the Academy Awards. It was one of the finest performances we’ve ever witnessed — a moment to remember forever for the team behind Everything Everywhere All At Once. They were sensational in every department and swept almost everything they could have hoped for, winning in seven different categories.
BEST PICTURE
BEST DIRECTOR
ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY
BEST ACTRESS
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
BEST EDITING
Special mention to Michelle Yeoh to become the first female Asian to win an Oscar for the Best Actress. A special mark in the history has been made by her.
Grabbing these major bunch of awards clearly show that they made a film which was more than perfect. They were quite favourites in the list, but still, they had big competition directors such as legend Steven Spielberg, who was also in the race.
Moreover, the film was totally deserving. It's worth watching film. This film creates a major viewpoint in the story and adding to that it is super entertaining. You can not deny the fact they were deserving in each single category and they did a lot of impressive work in making that film.
INDIAN BRILLANCE AT OSCARS
This time around, Indian filmmakers and audiences had plenty to cheer for at the Oscars. Naatu Naatu from RRR, after earning global recognition and sweeping major awards worldwide, finally clinched the Oscar for Best Original Song. It was a historic win — one that will inspire millions across generations and leave a lasting impact on Indian cinema. The electrifying live performance of the song during the ceremony even received a standing ovation, making it an unforgettable moment for India on the world stage.
Another major highlight for Indian cinema was The Elephant Whisperers, which won the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film. Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga, the win came in a category where few expected a triumph — making it all the more special. A phenomenal and emotional moment for Indian filmmakers, marking a proud milestone in our cinematic journey.
MOST WHOLESOME MOMENT
The most emotional — or we can say the most wholesome — moment at the 95th Academy Awards was Ke Huy Quan winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. His speech moved everyone. He said, "My mom is 84 years old, and she’s at home watching the Oscars. Mom, I just won an Oscar!" Later, Quan described his early struggles as a refugee, saying that stories like his usually only happen in movies — but it happened to him. He ended his speech with a powerful message: "To all of you out there, please keep believing in your dreams." The Vietnamese-American actor became only the second Asian male actor to win an Oscar after Haing S. Ngor, who won for The Killing Fields in 1984.
MY FAVORITE FILM
At this year’s Oscars, my favorite film — the one I rooted for the most — was All Quiet on the Western Front. I was very excited to see its performance. Although it didn’t win Best Picture, it did grab several major awards:
All Quiet on the Western Front is a powerful film that portrays the brutal reality of war. The horrors shown are deeply impactful and emotionally jarring. The cinematography, paired with the violent and realistic scenes, worked perfectly to deliver its message. I was in awe after watching it — the film truly left a lasting impact on me. I highly recommend everyone to watch it; it will definitely leave a mark on you too.
These were the major highlights of the 95th Academy Awards! The Oscars will return again in 2024
